Modern Neutral Baby Products: Interview with YUUMA Collection Founder Donnya Negera

When you shop for baby products, does it feel like a sea of bright primary colors and cartoon prints? For many moms, it’s hard to find items that vibe with their personal style and home decor.

Today, we’re interviewing the mama founder, Donnya Negera.

“Yuuma” means “Mother” in a respectful tone, originating from Nigeria. As a mother of two (4-year-old Abi and 2-year-old Amaan), Donnya knows how to make elegant products that really meet a mother’s needs.

“I started this brand with the mindset to celebrate individuality within motherhood. Through our bag design, the YUUMA Collection gives moms the freedom to express themselves as women first with a beautiful fashion piece,” she says. Q1: How did you start the YUUMA Collection?

“I started this brand with the mindset to celebrate individuality within motherhood. Through our bag design, the YUUMA Collection gives moms the freedom to express themselves as women first with a beautiful fashion piece.”

Q2: Why opt for neutral colors as the style?

“The neutral tone colors were specifically chosen to accustom to our wardrobe and any season. Our best-sellers are currently Ivory and Cinnamon for they are literally the perfect neutral tones for every day styles.”

Q3: What’s your self care go-to?

“My self care go-to: BRUNCH! I never used to go out to brunch, but since I found new friends in my area, it has been a blast. I also make it a priority to take naps when my little ones are resting.”

Q4: What’s a tip that helps you through the craziness of motherhood?

Q5: How do you feel about being a mom entrepreneur?

“Being a mompreneur, it is rewarding and by far has made this chapter of my life the best. There are challenging moments of course, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Most of all it is a great feeling to be a part of a mom's new chapter through our diaper bags.”
